Yan Ong was blessed by the late Paramaguru Sharath Jois in 2012 to teach Ashtanga Yoga. She lived in Mysore, India for 4 years, followed by annual trips & worldwide travels with her teacher for 15 years until his passing. This unique time spent with him both on & off the mat allowed her a profound & deep understanding of his teachings on the physical & philosophical level. She co-founded the Mysore Room Shala in Kuala Lumpur in 2014 with her husband as a space dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga.
In addition to being an authorised level 2 Ashtanga teacher, Yan has over 20 years of dedicated practice, a degree in Biotechnology, a certified Functional Mobility Specialist, qualified Functional Nutritionist & trained massage therapist, giving her a strong grasp on movement & the physical body.

Having taught in over 20 countries, Manuel has worked with a diverse range of students, from beginners to athletes, pregnant practitioners, and advanced students, including yoga teachers. He specializes in adapting the practice to meet individual needs while remaining faithful to its traditional roots.
Outside of yoga, Manuel finds balance and meditation through surfing, photography, and spending time with his family.
